Another weekend of pulsating football action in the Premier League is in store. Here are Things to look out for in the Premier League: Match Week 26. You can bet on the Premier League here.
Liverpool to get back to winning ways.
Liverpool have drawn their last two league games. By dropping four points, they’ve let the reigning champions Manchester City catch up with them. The Reds welcome Bournemouth, who recently hammered Chelsea 4-0, and Jurgen Klopp’s men feel they can’t afford any more slip-ups. The two draws were the first time Liverpool dropped points to a team outside of the top six. However, they beat Bournemouth 4-0 away from home in December and considering the Cherries’ poor away form, the hosts should win comfortably at Anfield and go top before their closest challengers Manchester City play Chelsea on Sunday.
Marco Silva Everton’s poor run to continue in his return to Watford.
Everton slumped to another defeat when they lost 2-0 at home to Manchester City. This was their third loss in five Premier League matches. Moreover, Marco Silva will be taking his troops to his former club Watford for Saturday’s clash. Silva is under pressure to win this game and rediscover his team’s form. Watford, on the other hand, have been great this season under the man who replaced Silva, Javi Gracia. They sit eighth in the table, one point ahead of the Toffees. Everton have been miserable in defence this season, especially at set-pieces. They have conceded 19 goals from set-pieces in the league, more than any other team. They’ll have to play well against a stubborn Watford side.
United to get in the top four?
Manchester United look phenomenal at the moment. Since Ole Gunnar Solskjaer took charge, the Red Devils have won nine games and drawn just once in all competitions. They now sit fifth in the Premier League table, two points off fourth-placed Chelsea. This weekend, however, they have a chance to get into the top four when they play away at Fulham in the early kick-off. If they win and Chelsea lose at Manchester City, United will be in the top four for the first time this season. Solskjaer has engineered an extraordinary reversal of fortunes at his former club since he took over in December. However, they will face sterner tests this month. They will face Paris Saint-Germain, Liverpool and Chelsea but at the moment, they are playing like the United of old.
Spurs to pile more pressure on Claude Puel.
Leicester City haven’t won in the league since New Year’s Day win at Everton. They’ve lost three of their last four games which have put manager Claude Puel under immense pressure. They couldn’t win against Manchester United in their last game despite playing much better than their visitors but this weekend they face an arguably tougher fixture, away at Tottenham Hotspur. Spurs will be cautious with the Foxes, who have delivered big results against top teams like Manchester City and Chelsea this season. Inconsistency has been the narrative of Leicester’s season. They’ll be facing a Spurs team who are still in contention for the Premier League title. Leicester created lots of chances against United and if things go their way, Spurs could be in for an upset.
Relegation battle to intensify.
Things are not looking good for Fulham and Huddersfield, who sit 19th and 20th in the Premier League respectively. Both teams lost last weekend and will face more difficult opponents this weekend. Fulham welcome Manchester United, who are rampant at the moment, while Huddersfield welcome top four contenders Arsenal. Fulham have the worst defence in the league while Huddersfield have conceded nine goals less than Fulham. It’s hard to see both teams winning on Saturday. They will have to produce something special to win. Moreover, Fulham have tricky fixtures coming up. They’ll be facing West Ham, fellow relegation candidates Southampton, and then Chelsea, Leicester and Liverpool. These two teams have to start now with 13 games remaining.
